ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS
The Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) platform has been developed by National e-Governance Division (Ne-GD) of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meaty) under DigiLocker Framework, with the functionality of opening of Academic Account by the students and onboarding of eligible HEIs. The ABC ID, or Academic Bank of Credit ID, is a unique 12-digit identification number issued to students in India as part of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) system. It serves as a digital academic credential, allowing students to store, manage, and transfer their academic credits securely.
Purpose: The ABC ID is designed to streamline the management of academic credits earned by students across different universities and institutions.
Functionality: It acts as a centralized digital repository for academic records, including degrees, diplomas, certificates, and other academic achievements.
Implementation: The ABC system was launched by the Government of India as part of the National Education Policy 2020, with the University Grants Commission (UGC) playing a key role in its implementation.
Benefits: The ABC ID offers students a convenient way to track their academic journey, transfer credits between institutions, and access their academic records securely.
ABC ID Creation:
1. Create or Login to DigiLocker Account
2. Search for Education category
3. Select your University
4. Click on Generate ABC Id
You may check your accumulated credits by logging on to abc.gov.in
Student mobile Number must be linked with Aadhar card.
